Bundles

Group two or more products and give a percentage off when a shopper buys them together. A “Frequently bought together” widget on each bundle product’s page lets shoppers add the whole set in one click.

Set it up

  1. In the app, go to Discount Campaigns and click Create a campaign.
  2. On the Bundle card, click Create.
  3. Enter a Campaign name. Only you see it.
  4. Under Bundle products, add 2 or more products.
  5. Set the Bundle discount (%), between 1 and 100.
  6. Under Storefront widget, leave Show ‘Frequently bought together’ on each bundle product’s PDP ticked, then set the Headline, Position and If a bundle product is out of stock (see below).
  7. Optionally, under Order tag, enter a tag to add to orders that include the bundle.
  8. Check Combinations and set a Schedule if you need one.
  9. Click Save.

After saving, the bundle page tells you if the app embed is turned off or your product template is missing the Bundle widget block, with a button that opens the theme editor to fix it.

How the discount works

The discount applies automatically at checkout, with no code, when the cart holds every product in the bundle. It covers each complete set: one of every bundle product. Extra units of a single product are full price. For example, with a 3-product bundle at 10% off, a cart with two of product A and one each of B and C gets 10% off one A, one B and one C.

A shopper can also add the products separately. The discount still applies once all of them are in the cart.

What shoppers see

On the page of every product in the bundle, shoppers see a card with each product, a tickbox and a variant picker. It shows the total with the original price struck through and the saving. Shoppers can untick items, but the saving only shows when every item is ticked, with a reminder such as “Add all 3 items to save 10%”. The add button needs at least 2 items ticked.

The widget needs the All Discounts & Promotions app embed turned on in your theme.

Position

  • Theme app block (recommended): add the Bundle widget app block to your product template in the theme editor and place it where you like. The block has an optional heading override. If you pick this option, the widget only shows where the block is.
  • After the product form (auto) or After the product description (auto): the widget finds its own spot. Use these for themes that don’t support app blocks.

If the theme block is on the page, it takes priority over the auto positions.

Out-of-stock products

If a bundle product is out of stock applies when every variant of one bundle product is unavailable:

  • Hide the unavailable item: the widget keeps showing while 2 or more items remain. The bundle discount won’t apply until the missing product is back in stock and in the cart.
  • Hide the whole bundle: the widget disappears.
  • Show as sold out (unselectable): the item stays visible but greyed out.

Change how the widget looks

Go to Customise and open Bundle Widget. You can set the colours, the Default headline, the Add to cart button text and the Minimum selection message, and choose whether to show the strikethrough subtotal, the savings line and the “Save X%” tag. A preview shows your changes.

Good to know

  • Untick the storefront widget box to run the bundle discount without the widget, for example if you promote the bundle elsewhere.
  • If several bundles include the same product, that product’s page shows all of them.
  • By default the bundle discount combines with order, product and shipping discounts. Change this under Combinations.
  • Bundles are on every plan. On the Free plan, discounts apply to up to 10 orders a month. See Plans and billing.
