Switching from Discounty
If you run bulk sales with Discounty, here’s how to move them across safely, and what else you get in the same app.
First, end your running sales
Bulk sale apps change your actual product prices. Once an app is uninstalled, Shopify stops it changing anything, so it can’t put those prices back afterwards.
Before you uninstall any bulk sale app, end every sale that’s running and check a few products to make sure their prices and compare-at prices are back to normal. Then uninstall.
Set up the same sale here
- Install All Discounts & Promotions from the Shopify App Store.
- In the app, go to Discount Campaigns, create a campaign and choose Bulk price sale.
- Pick the products, collection, tag, vendor or product type, and exclude anything that should stay at full price.
- Set the discount as a percentage or fixed amount, with a price ending such as .99 if you use one.
- Choose when it starts and ends. At the end time every price goes back automatically.
If some products already have a compare-at price, the form tells you how many before you create the sale, and lets you choose whether to include them.
While a sale runs, the original price of every discounted variant is also saved on the product, in a metafield called behaviour_discounts.original_price. You can see it in the Shopify admin, so the old price is never lost.
What comes in the same app
Bulk sales are one of the discount types in All Discounts & Promotions. The same app also runs:
- Quantity tiers, with a picker on the product page
- Buy X Get Y, bundles and upsells
- Free gifts and cart goals, with progress bars in the cart
- Shipping discounts and discount codes
- Magic links, QR codes and sign-up popups
- Offers on the thank-you page
