Quantity discounts and tiered pricing
Give shoppers a bigger discount the more they buy, such as 10% off 3 or more and 20% off 5 or more. The discount applies automatically at checkout, and app blocks show the tiers on your product pages.
Set it up
- In the app, go to Discount Campaigns and click Create a campaign.
- On the Quantity discount card, click Create.
- Enter a Campaign name. Only you see it.
- Under Discount, set up Tier 1: pick Percentage or Fixed amount in Discount/Pricing, enter the value, and set the Minimum quantity of items. Click Add discount tier for each extra tier.
- Under Discount conditions, choose Mix of products or Same variants (see below).
- Under Products, set Applies to: All products, Specific products, Specific collections, Specific vendors or Specific product types, then pick them.
- Under Storefront display, tick the extras you want (see below).
- Optionally add a Countdown timer, check Combinations, and set a Schedule.
- Click Create quantity discount.
It’s an automatic discount, so shoppers don’t need a code. The best tier they reach is applied at checkout.
Mix of products or same variants
- Mix of products: every eligible item in the cart counts towards the tier. Two mugs and one plate make 3 items, and the tier for 3 applies to all of them.
- Same variants: each cart line is counted on its own. A shopper needs 3 of the same variant to reach a tier for 3, and each line gets its own tier.
A Fixed amount tier takes that amount off each item, not off the order. “£2 off when buying 3+” on 3 items saves £6.
What shoppers see
The storefront pieces need the All Discounts & Promotions app embed turned on in your theme. The discount itself still applies at checkout without it.
App blocks for the product page
In your theme editor, open the product template and add any of these app blocks. Each one stays hidden on products that no quantity discount covers.
| Block | What it shows | Settings |
|---|---|---|
| Quantity picker | Selectable cards, one per tier, with the price for each. Picking a card sets the quantity, so your theme’s own Add to cart button adds that many. | Heading, Highlight (“Most popular”, “Best value”, both or none), Include a 1-item option, Accent colour |
| Quantity progress | A bar based on what’s already in the cart, such as “Add 1 more to get 20% off”. | Bar colour |
| Quantity savings chart | The tiers as a table or cards, with the saving per unit. | Heading, Style, Show savings per unit |
Storefront display options in the campaign
- Show a tier badge on product cards: a badge such as “Buy 2+ save 10%” on collection, search and home page grids. Badges show for campaigns that apply to all products, specific products or collections, not vendors or product types.
- Show tier progress on cart lines: a note under qualifying items in the cart and cart drawer, such as “10% off with 2+ — add 1 more for 20%”.
- Show progress in the cart drawer: a bar at the top of the cart drawer. This is for Mix of products campaigns; Same variants campaigns show the note on each cart line instead.
If a badge or note shows in the wrong place on your theme, set its position in Advanced settings under Widget placement, or use Ask us to place it there and we’ll set it up for you, free.
Good to know
- If you choose specific products, collections, vendors or product types, you must pick at least one. The form won’t save an empty selection.
- Keep to one quantity discount per product. If two cover the same product, the product page blocks show only one of them.
- By default the discount combines with order, product and shipping discounts. Untick a box under Combinations to keep it separate. If another live discount won’t stack with this one, the form lists it.
- Quantity discounts are on every plan. On the Free plan, discounts apply to up to 10 orders a month. See Plans and billing.
